Group trips are about having fun spending quality time with your favourite people. Which is why we’ve partnered with CALM and their Campaign Against Living Miserably, to say it’s time to check-in
CALM is a leading voice in the movement for mental health issues, working to encourage people to check-in with friends and family, and fighting to remove stigma so that everyone has someone to talk to. One in four people will experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives, many of whom will struggle in silence. So together with CALM, we’re asking you to check-in, and prevent your friend from being one of them.
If you think someone you know is struggling with their mental health, the team over at CALM have [put together loads of advice on how to chat to them about it – with the most important thing being simply to make sure the person in need knows you’re there for them. They also have an emergency helpline for people suffering with suicidal thoughts.
Now that packed is beginning to take off, we want to do something positive beyond making your group trip happen.
We’ve partnered with CALM to help raise awareness of the threat of suicide and how simply checking in early can be hugely important in preventing problems developing. From now on, we’re going to contribute £1 to CALM for every person who books onto a group trip with us, and we’ll be giving you the opportunity to contribute yourselves when you book. And anything you contribute, we’ll match.
