An aerial view of Dublin across the river

From being the birthplace of Ireland’s most famous liquor to hosting over 750 pubs, stag dos in Dublin really are craic (epic in the local lingo).

The city’s location on Ireland’s east coast means it couldn’t be easier to reach, while its reputation as one of the best party spots in Europe makes it a no brainer for your mate’s final send off. Guinness tours, whiskey tasting sessions and unbelievable bar crawls around the world-famous Temple Bar are what’s in store for stags hoping to hit up Dublin for a few days of drinking and debauchery.

It’s not just about the boozing, though. The capital of the Emerald Isle is also a hotspot for those keen to uncover bloody history, watch rowdy sports or get involved in insanely fun activities which you can only do in Dublin.

    Must-see neighbourhoods in Dublin

    Temple Bar

Dublin's famed drinking district, Temple Bar, is nestled along the historic riverside and has been home to some of the city's best boozers for decades. The buzzing area is also Dublin's cultural heart thanks to its theatres, cool independent shops and incredible Saturday food market.

    Camden Quarter

If you're hoping to mingle with the locals, put this neighbourhood on your radar. Also known as the Village Quarter, its lively streets - major ones include Camden, Wexford and Harcourt - are lined with great authentic pubs where you can grab a pint of the black stuff. There's also plenty of places to sober up afterwards, from quirky cafes to bustling bistros.

    Merrion Square

Merrion Square is not only Dublin's museum hub, but also one of its most attractive areas thanks to its grand Georgian buildings. Take a stroll around the park to spot the lounging Oscar Wilde statue before heading to nearby Baggot Road for a snifter of fine Irish whiskey.

    Smithfield

Dublin's former main market square, Smithfield remains a prime place for dining in the city especially towards the river. It's also where you'll find two major landmarks - the Jameson Distillery and the Skyview Tower. Burn off the excess booze by climbing the latter's 16 flights of stairs for uninterrupted views of the city.

    Dublin Stags

While you probably won't do a whole lot of sleeping in this pulsing party city, you'll still be glad to know that it's home to some ace accommodation options. Those on a budget stag party in Dublin will find a handful of great chain hostels with comfy dorms and great onsite bars ideal for socialising with other like-minded guests.

Rather have your own space? Secure the perfect apartment rental in Dublin for your stag do shenanigans. If you're looking to splash out, there's also plenty of fantastic four- and five- star options - think plush king size beds, decadent breakfast spreads and extras like saunas, spa treatments and swimming pools.
