a skier skiing through deep snow in Morzine

Nicknamed the L'ile du Soleil' (Island of the Sun), Alpe D'Huez in the French Alps undeniably lives up to its title thanks to its 300+ days of annual sunshine. It boasts a prime position near the Pic Blanc Glacier and it's just two hours from Grenoble, making it an ideal resort for both weekends and longer ski holidays.

While not as well known as the larger ski resorts in France, Alpe d'Huez is still packed with brilliant pistes to suit all abilities - including the longest black run in Europe (La Sarenne). Take a look at all the epic routes around the resort using the Alpe d'Huez piste map below.

You can also follow and track off-piste trails using the resort FATMAP, plus find all the top recommendations for dining, drinking and shopping on our Alpe d'Huez resort map.
