Bansko piste maps

a piste map for the Bansko ski resort in Bulgaria

Bulgaria's biggest and liveliest mountain resort, Bansko offers up something for both keen skiers and those simply after an awesome (and cheap) après ski scene.

You'll find the medieval mountain town about two and a half hours from Plovdiv and in the foothills of the magnificent Pirin Mountains. Bansko skiing is definitely geared more towards beginner and intermediate skiers, with at least half of its pistes rated blue or red, however, there are still a couple of tricker slopes.

Take a look at the Bansko piste map below to see which runs you want to tackle before you go. You can also check out the Bansko FATMAP for any popular off-piste routes, plus there's our packed Google map of the resort which highlights all the top restaurants and bars for your evening shenanigans.

Bansko off-piste map

If you're a more advanced skier, you'll definitely benefit from FATMAP. This 3D Bansko map essentially crowdsources info on off-piste routes in the area which have been explored by past skiers.
As well as showing you potential trails to try, you'll be able to see info on things like snow conditions, safety levels and avalanche risk. Keen to check out some new off-piste options? FATMAP will track your movements so you can store and share them later with friends and other skiers. You'll additionally be able to see live lift and piste statuses in the resort, too, if you'd rather stick to the official runs. Remember you'll need extra insurance for cross-country skiing.

When you're finished on the pistes, take a look at the Bansko Google map which we've highlighted with all the best locations to drink and dine within the resort itself. You'll also see our top recommendations for where to pick up things such as ski equipment and lift passes.
